First Saturday Book and Cook

First Saturday Book and Cook is all about a collaboration of community partners and neighbors in South Durham and Missio Church has been invited to be a part of it!  (See below to sign up to be a volunteer.)  This event truly provides the opportunity to meet and love your neighbors. The focus of Book and Cook is simple.  To provide books to children for Summer reading in our community and introduce them to new healthy snacks/meals.   We also provide story time, games, and snacks in a safe environment.  The book that will be read this month will be “Blue Sky White Stars”, authored by Sarvinder Naberhaus and illustrated by Kadir Nelson.  The food for the event is a “Red White and Blue" Trail Mix that the children can take home with them.
